Monica Cassell of Monica Cassell Photography is a fun, sassy, high-energy photographer who captures authentic photos sans gimmicks or stiff poses. She’s been in business nearly four years, and was ready for a custom website that accurately represents her talent and passion.
Often times clients look to web designers first in the redesign process. Then the designer asks them for their copy aaaand…they find themselves staring at a blank page for weeks, slowing down the whole process. Monica chose to bring me in to help bring out her personality through words better and faster than she could do herself. Magic words, at your service, m’dear!
If there’s one thing Monica isn’t, it’s boring! My challenge was to convey the necessary information about her photography services without dulling down or hiding her lovely personality. Monica loves to “Cuss like a sailor” by her own admission, so I knew I needed to play around with some ~classy~ cursing in the copy, as well as her love (okay, obsession) for Disney. I also made sure to tell her origin story in a compelling way: She fell in love with photography by sending photos back and forth across the pond to her Polish relatives as a child!
Together with her designer Henriette, we created and launched her new website! I’m so proud of how it turned out, and excited to watch her business blossom. She is already getting inquiries referencing her website copy and how much her personality shines through in it!
“My website copy was attracting the wrong client, and making booking difficult. My experience with writing consists of history essays in high school and college, so trying to create something fun that matched my personality was pretty much impossible. Now, my copy conveys the message that I want it to while also showing the value in my service but staying true to my personality. I think it will really help me attract the right clients.” -Monica
